THE iDOLM@STER MILLION LIVE!: Theater Days (アイドルマスターミリオンライブ!シアターデイズ?) is a free-to-start spin-off rhythm game for iOS and Android. It was published by Bandai Namco Entertainment and was released on June 29, 2017 in Japan, and 2019 in Korea and Taiwan for iOS and Android devices. This game is based on THE iDOLM@STER MILLION LIVE!, as the title suggests.

It was officially announced at THE iDOLM@STER MILLION LIVE! 4thLIVE TH@NK YOU for SMILE!! Day3 Starlight Theater event on March 12, 2017. The number of pre-registrations exceeded 100,000 the day after pre-registration started, and then 200,000 the day after that, reaching 390,000 in less than a week, and breaking 1 million in 18 days since registration started.

Gameplay[]

MILLION LIVE!: Theater Days follows the original idols of 765 Production along with the idols introduced in the 39 Project, as you work as a producer for them with your new secretary, Misaki Aoba, at the 765 Live Theater.

Live Shows[]

There are a total of six note types: simply tapping the icon, tapping and holding down the icon, flicking a certain direction, tapping two icons simultaneously, and tapping and sliding a certain direction.

Theater Days offers two different types of Live Shows for the player to choose from: Unit Live Shows, which are played in a horizontal position and shows all the idols in the unit selected, and Solo Live Shows, which are played in a portrait position and only show the idol who is set as the center for the unit selected.

The player can choose any song that they currently have unlocked. Each song has one of four types: Princess, Fairy, Angel, and All Type. Its difficulty increases with the number of lanes which can increase to up to six lanes. The difficulties for Unit Live Shows are: 2MIX, 4MIX, 6MIX, MILLION MIX, and OVER MIX, with the latter being exclusive to Acceleration. The difficulties for Solo Live Shows are 2MIX, and 2MIX+. MILLION MIX and Solo 2MIX+ are unlocked after clearing 6MIX for MILLION MIX or any difficulty for 2MIX+. These difficulties are unlocked for all songs for players who are at least Lv. 50. Acceleration's OVER MIX difficulty still needs to be unlocked by clearing its MILLION MIX chart.

After clearing a Live Show, the player gains Exp. Points, money, and fans based on the difficulty selected, as well as items. If Live Tickets are used, only fans are gained, based on the amount of Live Tickets used. Exp. Points gained are doubled for players under Lv. 50.

Judgment System[]

Depending on the timing accuracy of the player, various text-based judgement can appear on screen. From highest to lowest:

  • Perfectis the judgment for when a note is tapped right on the mark. When a Live Show is cleared with only Perfects, an All Perfect message is shown in the results screen.
  • Great is the judgment for when a note is tapped slightly before or after the beat.
  • Good is the judgment for a tap that hits the note more than slightly off-beat. Does not break combo.
  • Fast and Slow are the judgments for a very early or very late hit, respectively. Scoring a Fast/Slow will reset the current combo to 0 in addition to slightly draining the HP.
  • Miss is the judgment for if the note is not hit at all. Drastically drains the HP and breaks the current combo.

Getting Perfects/Greats/Goods not only increases the player's score, it adds a combo on-screen. A combo stops if the player taps notes incorrectly (Fast, Slow or Miss). If the player's HP bar empties, the currently song being played stops, and the player is asked if they want to continue the song right away for 10 Million Jewels. A judgment of Good or higher is required to clear a Live Show with a Full Combo (e.g. no Fasts/Slows/Misses).

Jobs[]

Available after reaching Lv. 5, the player can do work with their idols with this feature. Offers can also be used, featuring certain idols to be used in different offers.

Stories[]

There are three types of stories that you can unlock:

Main Story[]

The main story has the player work at 765 Production as the idol's Producer. Each chapter is broken up into three parts: Prologue, Main Story, and the Epilogue. The chapter's are fully voiced with each member's voice actress, and in order to unlock new chapters the player must either level up to the required level or wait for new chapters to be released. Each chapter in the main story unlocks a song.

Side Stories[]

Every idol has three types of side stories: Memorials, Episodes, and Outfit Episodes. Memorials are unlocked through gaining a certain amount of affection points for an idol, episodes are unlocked through awakening an idol's card, and outfit episodes are only available to idols with SSRs and are unlocked by liking their SSR blog post and then interacting with them.

Event Stories Sometimes, events will come with new story to read. The chapters are unlocked through reaching certain point requirements. Each event story is made up of a prologue, six chapters, and the epilogue.

Events[]

Miricolle! ~MILLIONLIVE COLLECTION~[]

(Japanese: ミリコレ!~MILLIONLIVE COLLECTIONMiricolle! ~Million Live Collection~) is an event where players can earn event tokens by playing Live Shows and doing Work. With the event tokens, the player can scout in the event gacha which contains items like coins, Million Jewels, lesson tickets, and more. After the player uses a certain amount of event tokens in the gacha, the player can unlock rewards like the ones in the event gacha along with the event cards. Each card is available in their respective box, which can be changed later.

Platinum Star Theater[]

These are events where players earn themed "tokens" from playing normal Live Shows. The themed tokens take the place of energy (stamina) for the event song, which is either an existing song or a new song. The player earns points from playing normal Live Shows and playing the event song.

Platinum Star Tour[]

In this event, players are given the option to play a song with multipliers of 1.2x, 1.0x, Work with a 0.7x multiplier, or the event song with a random multplier between 3.0-5.0x. When clearing a non-event song, progress points and event points are added. By getting 20 progress points, players are awarded an event token, used for playing the event song.

MILLION LIVE WORKING☆[]

In MILLION LIVE WORKING☆, players gain Event Points and Coins by performing Live Shows, as well as getting items and opening up idols' talks by accumulating points. Coins can be exchanged for various items at the event shop.

Platinum Star Tune[]

This event plays similar to how Platinum Star Theater does - the player plays normal Live Shows to earn tokens to be used for playing the event song(s). The way the player accesses the song is the same as Platinum Star Tour, where they have to do it from the event top page. Starting an event performance will show a window displaying all the idols of the unit to appear, in which the player picks one to begin a Consultation with them. A Consultation with the chosen idol is resolved after a cleared Event Live Show. The Consultations will be saved in a menu similar to how Texts are saved for Offers.

It features an Event Deck function, which is formed of cards from the featured unit. Stronger event decks will increase the event point gain bonus from the event song, up to 20%.

Gacha[]

The gacha is used to scout for new idols and to obtain cards using Million Jewels and Gacha Medals as currency. All cards unlock episodes once a card is changed into its awakened form, and SSRs unlock special outfits that can be viewed through MVs, the Dress Up mode, and in any 3D mode while playing Live Shows.

Rarity Percentage
SSR 3%
SR 12%
R 85%

Platinum Gacha[]

The main gacha uses the Million Jewel currency. All cards featured and in the gacha are limited and/or permanent. When using this gacha, players have three types of scouting to choose from.

  • One scout for 250 Million Jewels.
  • Ten scouts from 2,500 Million Jewels.
  • One Daily scout for 60 purchased Million Jewels (once daily).

A new Platinum Gacha appears three times a month featuring a new permanent SSR card and SR card with the featured cards having a higher appearance rate than other cards in the gacha. Sometimes, there will be an additional limited SSR card.

Medal Gacha[]

Medal Gacha uses the Gacha Medal currency. The player earns Gacha Medals from earning a certain amount of Medal Points from interacting with idols, playing Live Shows, and doing jobs to earn 100 Gacha Medal points which gives the player one Gacha Medal. However, Gacha Medals expire after one week of owning it.

Outfits[]

In Theater Days, outfits can be obtained in several ways: as drop rewards, from the platinum & medal gacha, as event point & ranking rewards, through the event item exchange menu, and by purchasing them for free or paid jewels in the shop menu.

The default outfit of the game is "Shiny Trinity". This outfit is unlocked for an idol when collecting one of that idol's card for the first time. Outfits used in the 1st through 4th MILLION LIVE! concerts, such as "Prologue Rouge" and "Grateful Blue", etc. can be found as rare drops from clearing Live Shows, offers, and work. They can also be found rarely in the medal gacha or by using an outfit gacha ticket.

Some outfits are only available as event rewards, typically at a certain amount of event points or voltage, depending on event type. Some time after the initial launch of the event, event outfits become available for the other participating idols for 5 Platinum Star Pieces.

Another Outfits[]

Some outfits have a special recolored version known as the "another" version. Outfits obtained from rare drops and some outfits from the shop do not have an another version. To unlock an "another" version of an outfit, the Master Rank of that card must be increased to 4 by using Master Pieces or Platinum Star Pieces on them. Players can also unlock an event outfit's "another" version by placing in the top 2,500 in the event rankings.

Some gacha SSRs have an additional "another" version that is available when a card's Master Rank is upgraded to 5. This recolor replaces some hair accessories with a new tiara. An example is Sweetie Blossom++, the "another 2" version of Haruka Amami's first SSR outfit — instead of her twin hair decorations, she will wear the tiara.
